City of Kamloops releases lineup for Music in the Park

It's back! The 26th edition of Music in the Park is basically here!

The City of Kamloops and the BCLC released the lineup and schedule for the free concerts that are taking place all summer at the Rotary Bandshell in Riverside Park.

“BCLC has supported Music in the Park since day one, and we’re thrilled to continue to be a part of making summer more fun alongside the City of Kamloops,” said BCLC President Jim Lightbody. “I invite everyone in our community to join us this summer for some great entertainment.”

Starting on July 1st and ending on August 31st, this year's Music in the Park will feature 62 free concerts all starting at 7 p.m.

“Music in the Park is an event our community looks forward to every year,” said Kamloops Mayor Ken Christian. “With the support of BCLC and all of the volunteers that make this event possible, we’re very excited to enjoy the 26th season of Music in the Park.”

Also part of the event is the 7th Annual Midsummer Music Jam on July 24th. Headlining that event will be award-winning Canadian country band, The Washboard Union. Fans of food trucks won't want to miss Wednesdays in the park as vendors will be out in full force feeding residents from 5 to 9 p.m.

Music in the Park features all kinds of genres of music including rock, roots and blues, country, folk, soul, and more. Kicking off the first day of music, which happens to fall on Canada Day, will be Rob Lemonica and Rio at 8:15 p.m., and then Ayren and the Kingpins at 9:15 p.m. Closing out the event on August 31st will be Earthbound with their take on world music.
