The City of Kamloops is reminding residents that water restrictions are set to return to the community in the near future.
Effective Friday, no sprinkling or irrigating will be allowed between 11 am and 6 pm on any day. First offenders will be given $100 fines, with each subsequent offense resulting in a $200 ticket.
Even addresses can only sprinkle or irrigate on even-numbered days while odd addresses have the opposite. Complexes with internal addresses are to use the internal address to determine when to water.
Watering between midnight and 6 am is restricted, though it is allowed if sprinklers are controlled by automatic timers. All outdoor handheld hoses must be equipped with a spring-loaded shut-off nozzle and are permitted at any time.
