Travellers who came through YKA should be aware of a flight that had a COVID-19 exposure recently.
According to the BCCDC, WestJet flight 3111 with service from Calgary to Kamloops had a passenger who tested positive for coronavirus.
The affected person sat between rows 12 and 18 on the Nov. 15 flight.
Those who sat near the affected area are encouraged to monitor themselves for symptoms of the virus. Passengers on domestic flights with COVID-19 exposures are asked to monitor for up to 14 days.
Following the exposure, YKA encouraged residents to practice proper safety measures before catching their flights.
Those going to the Kamloops Airport must wear a mask, maintain six feet of distance between, and only enter the area if they are catching a flight. New cleaning and disinfecting protocols have been put in place to further stop the spread of the virus.
"A friendly reminder that everyone must wear a mask in all indoor public settings in BC, including at Kamloops Airport," wrote YKA. "Thanks for wearing a mask, observing physical distancing and only visiting YKA if you are working or travelling. Stay safe!"
