Early morning Kamloops shooting sends 1 to hospital with serious injuries

Mounties in Kamloops are seeking witnesses to an early morning shooting that sent one person to the hospital with serious injuries.

Just after midnight on June 19, police responded to a report of a male suffering from a gunshot wound in the 600 block of Seymour Street.

Upon arrival, officers found the victim, who was then transported by ambulance to the hospital with serious injuries. Police did not provide an update on the status of the victim.

“Although the investigation is ongoing, current evidence suggests this incident was not random,” said Staff Sgt. Kelly Butler.

“We are asking anyone who may have been a witness to this incident or has video surveillance to call the Kamloops RCMP and reference file 2025-19221.”
