One driver was counting himself lucky after a nearly deadly incident in Ashcroft.
According to Jonathan Abecassis with CN, at approximately 8:25 am, a car and train collided at a crossing on the tracks. CN Police and emergency crews responded to ensure everyone involved was okay.

The incident left the car with extensive damage, though the driver reportedly only suffered minor injuries. No dangerous goods or spills occurred when the train was put to a sudden halt.
At this point, the cause of the collision is still under investigation and CN is working with local authorities.
