(UPDATE: Nov. 16, 2019 @ 6:40 am): Police have confirmed that a serious collision last night has resulted in one fatality.
At about 5:29 pm, Kamloops RCMP responded to a report of a motor vehicle accident near the intersection of McGill Road and University Drive.
The collision between a truck and pedestrian necessitated the closure of the roadways into the area for over six hours to allow Police to investigate the accident.
A 54-year-old female was pronounced deceased on scene. The driver of the truck remained on scene and was brought to the detachment to further the investigation.

Emergency crews responded to University Drive and McGill Road this evening for an apparent motor vehicle incident involving a pedestrian.
A total of seven police cars, one fire engine, and an ambulance responded to the call around 5:30 pm.
Witnesses at the scene mentioned emergency crews performed CPR on one individual.
Currently, we do not have a condition on the injured person.
Traffic is just starting to move along McGill Road. NowMedia is working on gather more information.
