Emergency response team seizes weapons, drugs from Kamloops residence

The Southeast District Emergency Response Team (ERT) was brought in to search a Kamloops residence after a weapons report was made late last week.

Police received a threats report involving a person who was in the possession of weapons on Friday, Oct. 27.

As a result, a search warrant was obtained for the Kamloops RCMP and other agencies to probe the Barnhartvale residence

“In recognition of the reported presence of weapons inside the residence and the subsequent safety risk presented, the ERT was deployed to help gain entry,” said Cpl. Crystal Evelyn.

Drugs and weapons were both seized as part of the ongoing investigation, but Evelyn says the suspect was not found inside the home.

However, they were located nearby soon after and arrested without incident, but later released with conditions and a court date.

Police noted that another man who was located with the suspect was arrested on a warrant.
