GoFundMe gathering steam for Kamloops man paralyzed in car accident

Residents in the River City are quickly coming to the aid of a Kamloopsian who was in a horrific motor vehicle incident on Tuesday.

According to posts from friends and family, Tory Jones shattered his T12 vertebrae, causing paralysis in his legs that may be irreversible. He is currently being transported to the Lower Mainland to see a neurosurgeon about the issue.

"Well I’m alive so for that I’m grateful," wrote Jones in a Facebook post. "Waiting in Kelowna to be airlifted to Vancouver General to see a neurosurgeon. Back is broken and might be paralyzed."

A Go Fund Me was created to support Jones' two kids and his wife Chelsea so they "won't have to worry about bills and mortgage while they support him in the times to come."

In just three hours, close to $3,000 has been raised out of the $300,000 goal.

"Our goal is to raise as much money as we can to help reduce the financial worries that come with this stressful situation," wrote the Go Fund Me. "Our Love, Prayers, and Thoughts go out to him and his family."

Jones has been a big staple at Gold's Gym in Kamloops and they were one of the first to show their support for the husband and father.
