If you’re a fan of seafood and looking for plans this weekend, look no further than Halibut Festival.
It will make its debut at Fresh St. Market stores on Sunday and that includes the Kamloops location.
The public is invited to enjoy fresh halibut burgers at the festive, family-friendly event that will offer a fish-filled day of food demonstrations, a halibut BBQ, children’s activities and more.
“At Fresh St. Market, we are so excited to be able to host events again at our stores with the goal of getting people excited and passionate about using fresh local quality ingredients and in this case, right from our beautiful British Columbia shores,” explained Mark McCurdy with Fresh St. Market.
“Our past Halibut Festivals have been such a success with community participation, we couldn’t be more thrilled to get this spirit going again and our fish-filled events back in action.”
McCurdy added: “With fresh-caught Pacific Ocean halibut and a boatful of fun activities, we are really looking forward to welcoming everyone to this event.”
More than 10,000 lbs of fresh-caught halibut will be available on Sunday across Fresh St. Market’s six locations in British Columbia.
Halibut burgers will be grilled on site and available for purchase for $7.50 between 11:30 am and 2 pm.
