One person is dead following a shooting in Kamloops.
Emergency crews responded to the scene in the 200 block of Columbia Street, near Royal Inland Hospital, in the early hours of Tuesday morning.
The fatal shooting is now being investigated as a homicide and early evidence points to it being a targeted incident.
“No additional details are being released at this time as police continue to investigate and communicate with the victim’s family,” noted an RCMP release.
Investigators are turning to the public in hopes of gathering more information about the incident.
They’re particularly looking to speak with anyone who was in the area between 1-3 am and those with potentially-relevant dash cam footage from that time.
