Kick off the holiday season with the 42 annual Santa Claus Parade, which is happening this weekend.
This year’s parade is scheduled to start on Sunday, Nov. 27 at 4:30 pm.
Presented by Thompson Rivers University, the parade's theme this year is a pyjama party and everyone is invited to show up in their coziest PJs.
All participants will be decked out in festive lights for the evening parade, which will wrap up at about 6 pm, and are being encouraged to wear their own PJs for the kick off the holiday season.
The parade will begin at 2nd Avenue and St. Paul Street and head north to Victoria Street.
It will head east on Victoria Street before ending at 6th Avenue.
Residents are reminded that temporary road closures will be in place for the downtown area.
Drivers are asked to avoid the parade route and not park en-route on Sunday from 8 am to 6 pm.
The Lansdowne Transit Exchange will be temporarily relocated to St. Paul Street between 5th Avenue and 6th Avenue.
This temporary change will be in effect from 3:30 pm to 6:00 pm.
