(UPDATE: Sept. 23 @ 5:20 pm) – The grass fire that was burning in the Valleyview area is now out.
The city provided the update at 5:10 pm.
“Crews remain on scene to complete clean up,” the city said.
(Original storY: Sept. 23 @ 3:57 pm) – Kamloops Fire Rescue is currently responding to a grass fire on Owl Road in the Valleyview area.
The City of Kamloops says BC Wildfire Service is also responding.

Residents are being asked to avoid the area to give crews room to work.
The fire broke out shortly after 3:30 pm.
A cause for the fire has yet to be determined.
