Kamloops Lululemon will be open in time for Christmas

Brynn Gise called it the worst kept secret in town, but the Aberdeen Mall marketing director said it’s finally official: Lululemon is opening in Kamloops this December.

Gise said Aberdeen Mall has been working for more than a year to sign a deal to bring the athletic wear giant to Kamloops. Lulu is aiming to open December 1st, but could open earlier if preparations wrap up ahead of schedule. The 3,000-square-foot store will be located in the former East Side Mario’s location, with outdoor and indoor entrances.

“The most common question right now is 'How do I get a job?' so we are just directing people to visit the Lululemon website for the time being,” Gise said. “We should be receiving the information as well and, once we have it, it will be available at guest services and also on our website.”

Rumours of a Kamloops Lulu started swirling earlier this summer when a job posting for a local manager popped up on the company’s website — much to the joy of luon-loving locals.

“Just having somebody new come in like Lululemon that's been in high demand in the Kamloops area for so long, I think it's going to bring in customers,” Gise said. "It's a great thing for Aberdeen Mall, all the retailers will benefit.”
