At around 5:40 pm on Aug. 23, police responded to a motorcycle crash in the 8500 block of Barnhartvale Road.
The 18-year-old motorcyclist sustained serious injuries in the crash and, unfortunately, succumbed to his injuries as first responders and bystanders attempted life-saving measures.
“Frontline officers and the Kamloops RCMP Traffic Unit have been involved in the investigation, which is still ongoing,” said Corporal Dana Napier, spokesperson for the Kamloops RCMP.
The BC Coroner Service is also investigating the incident and anyone with video footage or who witnessed the collision and has not spoken to police is asked to call 250-8328-3000 and cite file 2025-27755.
The other motorcycle crash occurred just before 10 pm on Hwy 5 near Timber Lake Forest Service Road.
Bystanders and BC Ambulance provided life-saving measures following the single-vehicle motorcycle crash, but the 60-year-old rider succumbed to his injuries.
“The investigation is ongoing by the Tk’emlúps Rural RCMP Detachment,” said Cpl. Napier.
“The motorcycle was reported to be travelling northbound at the time of the crash.”
The BC Coroner has been notified and is investigating. Anyone with information or video footage related to the collision is asked to contact the Kamloops RCMP and reference file number 2025-27781.
