Kamloops RCMP is investigating two suspicious residential fires that occurred on the North Shore early Sunday morning.
According to police, at 2:08 a.m., officers and Kamloops Fire Rescue attended a fire in the 800-block of Evergreen Place. The fire started outside the home, spread to some cedar trees, and then damaged the side of the home.
Just ten minutes later, police and KFR went to another residential fire in the 600-block of York Avenue. This fire also started outside and damaged the outside of the home. No injuries and minor damage occurred at both locations.
“Kamloops RCMP is investigating both of these fires,” said Cpl. Jodi Shelkie. “Because of the similar nature of where the fires started and the timeline of when they started, we will be determining if they are arson and if they are related.”
Anyone with information on either of these fires is asked to contact Kamloops RCMP at (250)-828-3000 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
