Kamloops RCMP looking for suspects after theft of solar panels

Kamloops RCMP is asking for the public's help in identifying possible suspects after solar panels were stolen from an area in Cherry Creek.

According to police, on April 30th and again on May 9th, solar panels were removed from four electronic message boards located on the Trans Canada Highway in the Greenstone Mountain Road area. These message boards are integral to the public and traffic safety where construction crews are replacing bridges from last year's flooding.

The theft on May 9th happened in broad daylight between 7 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.

Police are asking the public if they may have seen the theft or have dashcam footage that could identify a suspect vehicle.

If you have any information on this suspicious occurrence, contact Kamloops Rural RCMP at (250)314-1800 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
