Kamloops RCMP say fire at Valleyview boat dealership is being treated as suspicious

The Kamloops RCMP and the fire department are investigating a fire that broke out early Monday morning at a boat dealership in Valleyview.

On Oct. 2, at about 4:40 am, the RCMP were called to a location on the 1900-block of the East Trans Canada Highway.

Online reports from witnesses say the fire broke out at River City Marine.

When officers arrived on site, they found firefighters in the process of extinguishing fully involved flames on two boats.

A third boat was also damaged, says a release from the RCMP.

“It’s still early in the investigation, but the fire is being treated as suspicious by fire investigators, who are working with police to help determine what transpired,” said Cpl. Crystal Evelyn.
