Kamloops RCMP say there is no criminality in sudden death, North Shore fire

The Kamloops RCMP say no criminality is suspected in a sudden death that was reported on the North Shore earlier this month.

In the early hours of April 7, paramedics found a fire at a building at the corner of 8th Street and Tranquille Road and tried to put it out.

Kamloops Fire and Rescue responded and put the fire out, which revealed a dead man.

In an update provided on April 29, the RCMP say they have identified the man.

“At this time, no evidence has been discovered to suggest criminality was involved in the man’s untimely death,” said Cpl. Crystal Evelyn.

The BC Coroners Service is still conducting a concurrent investigation.

Anyone who has information that they have not shared, but may be related, is asked to contact the Kamloops RCMP Detachment at (250) 828-3000.
