The Kamloops RCMP are releasing pictures of two suspects who allegedly robbed a person and attempted but failed to steal their vehicle.
According to the RCMP, the robbery happened on Sunday morning just before 5 am on the 500-block of Victoria Street.
The RCMP said they received the report at 6 am and were told that a person was in their vehicle in a parking lot when they were approached by two masked men.
“The suspects robbed the victim of items in their possession, then attempted to steal their vehicle too, but failed when they realized they were unable to drive a standard transmission,” said Corporal Crystal Evelyn, Kamloops RCMP Detachment spokesperson.
“As part of their investigation, police have obtained suspect images and are releasing them to the public in hopes that someone can identify them.”
Police say the two men then ran westbound down a nearby alley.
The RCMP say the first suspect is described as skinny. Police say he had a red and black bandana covering his face up to his eyes with a red hoodie with the hood up.
The second suspect is described as an Indigenous man who is about 6’ and skinny. He was wearing brown work pants with a hood on and a red and black bandana that was also up to his eyes.
Anyone who recognizes the suspects or has information related to the investigation is asked to call the RCMP detachment at (250) 8282-3000 and refer to file 2025-13306.
