Kamloops RCMP treating Brock house fire as potential arson incident

The Kamloops RCMP are treating a residential fire in Brocklehurst as an arson investigation,

At around 3 am on Wednesday, RCMP officers were called to a house on the 1700-block of Brunner Avenue, a release says.

That is south of Tranquille Road, near Save-On-Foods.

When they arrived on scene, firefighters were already on scene fighting a fire.

However, Cpl. Crystal Evelyn says in the release that two people were reported as throwing something into the house, then fleeing the area.

She says one of the suspects was on a bike.

Fortunately, no one was injured in the fire and the blaze was quickly extinguished.

The release says a police presence will remain in the area while officers investigate and gather information from witnesses.

The RCMP are asking any witnesses or people with security video that might have captured the incident to give them a call at (250) 828-3000 and refer to file 2024-7335.
