The Kamloops RCMP Detachment responded to nearly 340 calls for service this weekend.
They responded to a report of a stolen vehicle, two commercial break-ins, a break-in at a residential address on Nicola Street and an arrest of a man breaking his court-order curfew.
Below are a few of these calls highlighted by Kamloops RCMP media spokesperson Cpl. Crystal Evelyn.

Stolen vehicle – 2024-8633
On Sunday, around 6 pm, officers responded to the 1000-block of Hillside Drive where an early 2000s model white Ford pickup truck had been reported as being stolen between 4:30 pm and 6 pm. According to a release, the truck had a canoe rack, a Sun Peaks sticker on the back window, a front bumper light bar, LED headlights and licence plate number PD7453. There was also a child seat inside. The release says it also had a running board missing from the driver’s side and the truck was dirty with mud.
Smash and grab break-in downtown – 2024-8655
Mounties are looking for more information about a break and enter that happened Sunday night around 11:20 pm at a business on the 200-block of Victoria Street. According to a media release, a glass door was broken, beauty products and jewelry were stolen.
Cheques, keys stolen in St. Paul Street break and enter – 2024-8657
About 15 minutes later, officers were called to another break-in on the 100-block of St. Paul Street. According to the release, two offices had been broken into about 20 minutes apart. A silver laptop, chequebook, keys and post-dated cheques were stolen.
Man arrested following curfew check – 2024-8664
A man under a court-ordered curfew, and several other conditions, was arrested Mar. 25. Officers were doing proactive checks on the man when they had been advised that he was not at home. He was located shortly afterwards and, after a brief struggle, was taken back into custody.
According to the release, he has since been charged with one count of breaching a release order and held in custody for his next court date in early April.
Residential break-in: arrests made – 2024-8598
Two men and a woman were arrested following a report of a break in at a home on the 500-block of Nicola Street on Sunday.
According to the release, officers were alerted after a witness noticed a person entering the basement of a house that is supposed to be vacant. Officers attended, found a broken door and three people allegedly sleeping inside. Break-in tools were found nearby. All three people were released with court dates and conditions. Charges are anticipated.
