The Kamloops Search and Rescue (KSAR) team had a busy Saturday night with two different calls for help.
The first involved a call from BC Emergency Health Services to help rescue an injured dirt biker.
According to KSAR, the biker had suffered a shoulder injury.
However, just as the KSAR team was arriving the injured dirt biker was picked up by the RCMP.
Unfortunately, his riding companion, who had helped guide the KSAR UTV team to the location, ended up needing help because he was unfamiliar with the trail network and did not have a phone or map.
The KSAR team safely escorted him back to the Duffy Lake area.
A post from KSAR said the team received a second call from the RCMP just as they were wrapping up the dirt bike incident.
The second incident involved a drifting boat on Kamloops Lake who was issuing a distress call.
Once again, just as the team approached the highway to head towards the lake, they were asked to stand down.
“Another nearby boat had successfully towed the drifting vessel back to the marina,” KSAR said.
All involved KSAR members were demobilized and wrapped up just around midnight.
