Kamloops will soon be without two of its treasured restaurants...
Swiss Chalet announced this morning that the unit located at 1395 Hillside Drive would be permanently closing. According to Swiss Chalet manager Darcie Smith, the Kelowna-based owner decided to close up shop due to financial issues.
"The owner is based out of Kelowna and financially it just wasn't working for him anymore, " said Smith. "He's tried his best to keep the restaurant going but, at this point, he's decided it's time to close."
A total of 27 employees will be out of work as a result of the closure. In addition to Swiss Chalet, Harvey's, which is attached to the restaurant, will also close down.
Swiss Chalet's final day is Friday where it will be running from noon to 8 pm.
