The second time was the charm for Kamloops Mounties on Wednesday.
Around 3 pm, an officer tried to pull over a cyclist who was not wearing a helmet, but the man allegedly fled.
Nearly five hours later, around 7:50 pm, the cyclist was spotted again, without a helmet or lights on his bike, and an officer was able to pull him over successfully this time.
“As part of the investigation, the officer located weapons, including a baton, and arrested him for possessing a weapon for dangerous purposes, in addition to obstruction,” explained Cpl. Crystal Evelyn.
The man was held in custody for a bail hearing on charges related to weapons possession, obstruction and failure to comply with a court order.
