Kamloops residents are being advised that their 2023 dog licence renewals are in the mail this week.
The city says they are sending out the bills on Wednesday and they should arrive in mail boxes within the next week.
Anyone who opted for e-bills will received an email this week.
Dog owners will not be able to do online payments until Oct.12, however.
All dogs who are six months or older and live within city limits are required to have a licence, the city says.
Licensing your dog makes it easier to reunite them if they escape home or are stolen and a portion of the fees goes towards future additions and upgrades to dog parks within the city.
Everyone is reminded that licence fees are due on Jan. 1, 2024 and any unpaid fees from 2023 or previous years will show up on next year’s bill.
The city reminds all dog owners that payments made after Jan. 1 will automatically have a late payment of $32.50 applied to their account.
