More rehabilitation work is getting underway on the Halston Bridge next week.
On Monday, crews will begin work on the bridge deck, which is meant to make it “safer and require less surface maintenance.”
Crews will also be replacing the deck joints.
During construction, two of the bridge’s four lanes will be closed at all times, reducing the crossing to one lane in each direction.
All four lanes will be open during the winter months because work will be put on pause due to cold weather.
Construction is expected to wrap up in spring 2024.
Drivers are advised to prepare for delays, however, emergency service providers and transit, will receive priority access through the area.
Everyone is asked to obey construction-zone speed limits and traffic control personnel.
