Licensing for business owners just became a bit easier in the City of Kamloops.
Starting next week, businesses throughout the city will be able to apply for a license online.
The city is launching eApply, which follows the introduction of electronic billing last year.
“We are pleased to be improving the experience for business customers by enhancing electronic services. The online application process will be much more streamlined,” said Rod Martin, the city’s planning and development manager.
With the new online service, a fee of $15 will be charged.
The city says the fee follows industry best practices to avoid fraudulent applications and improves submission quality.
Although the fee is new, the city says it will act as a credit towards the final licence fee.
The new online application service is expected to go live on Monday, Oct. 23 after council adopts the bylaw during the Oct. 18 meeting.
