Kamloops man arrested for assault, breaching no-contact orders

A man has been charged in relation to an assault that took place at a house on the Skeetchenstn reserve last week.

The Tk’emlúps Rural RCMP Detachment says officers were called to the house on Feb. 16 as part of an investigation into an assault and breach of no-contact allegations.

According to a release, after a few hours officers responded to the 500-block of Notre Dame Drive for a report of an intoxicated man who was refusing to leave.

At that time, officers located the suspect from the earlier report.

Corporal Crystal Evelyn, Kamloops RCMP spokesperson, says he was arrested and is being held for court on Friday.

The man, who is not being named to protect the privacy of the victim, is charged with two counts of assault with a weapon and two counts of failure to comply with a probation order.

Anyone with information related to this investigation who has not yet spoken with police is asked to contact the Tk’emlúps Rural RCMP Detachment at (250) 314-1800 and refer to file 2024-4792.
