Kamloops man arrested, taken to cells to sober up after trying to fight people downtown

A man was arrested last week after allegedly threatening staff and patrons at a downtown business.

On May 20, around 2 am, Kamloops RCMP officers were called to the 300-block of Victoria Street where a man was allegedly trying to start fights and causing a disturbance.

Officers located and arrested the suspect, a news release said.

“He was lodged in cells to sober up safely and prevent continuation of the offence,” the news release says.

No injuries were reported.
