Kamloops non-profit inviting residents to repair event on Saturday

A Kamloops non-profit is hosting a free repair event this weekend to mark the annual Earth Day celebration.

Transition Kamloops is inviting all residents to bring their broken items to the Heritage House in Riverside Park on Saturday, April 20 to get them repaired.

The event runs from 10 am until 3 pm, a news release says.

Residents can bring furniture, electrical appliances, bicycles, appliances, toys or textiles to see if a volunteer will be able to fix it.

The only things that can’t be brought to the event are computers and cell phones.

“Our team of experienced volunteers will be available to assist you in troubleshooting and assist you in repairing your item if possible or direct you on where to find the parts the necessary parts,” says Transition Kamloops in the news release.

“Every repair saves resources and helps our planet. Together, we can make a difference—one repair at a time.”
