Kamloops has a long list of solid young hockey players and we can officially add Ethan Langenegger to the mix.
The 18-year-old goaltender announced his commitment to play Division 1 College Hockey on Thursday.
Langenegger is set to join Lake Superior State University in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association after spending parts of two seasons with the Salmon Arm Silverbacks.
Couldn’t be more excited to announce that I’ve committed to play division 1 hockey at Lake Superior State university, can’t thank my family, friends and coaches especially with the @SASilverbacks enough for being by my side throughout the journey so far! #believeinblue

During his time playing BC Junior A hockey last season, Langenegger appeared in 37 games where he won 18 games and lost 17. His goals against average was 3.27 while his save percentage was a masterful .906.
“It’s really gratifying to see a guy that deserves something so much attain his primary goal,” said Silverbacks head coach and general manager, Scott Atkinson. “He’s been a wonderful player for us. He’s a really good person and I can’t think of a more deserving individual. I’m sure he’s going to be a star for us this year and star for them in the future.”
After helping the Silverbacks make playoffs, Langenegger won one game before his team was eliminated.
