Property owners in Kamloops will start receiving their 2022 property tax notices this week.
For those who have signed up to receive e-bills, expect a notice in the coming days.
Kamloops City Council approved the tax rates on May 10 and taxes and Home Owner Grant applications are due on Monday, July 4, 2022.
As a reminder, a 10% penalty for late payments or grant applications will apply as of July 5.
This year, the city is offering residents a few different ways to pay their property taxes.
Residents can now pay in-person from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm, Monday to Friday, at city hall or the Tournament Capital Centre.
Alternatively, folks can deposit a cheque at any of the following dropbox locations:
City Hall - 7 Victoria Street West
Tournament Capital Centre - 910 McGill Road
North Shore Community Policing Office - 915 7th Street
Westsyde Pool and Fitness Centre - 859 Bebek Road
The dropbox at city hall is accessible from the exterior 24/7, however, the other drop boxes are located inside and only accessible during facility hours.
For those who would like to pay online through the city’s website or in person with their credit cards, the service is still available with the same non-refundable 1.75% service fee.
Residents can also pay their tax through their phone or online banking.
Finally, the city reminds residents that are applying for the Home Owner Grant must do so through the province. For more information and to apply, visit Gov.BC.ca/HomeOwnerGrant or call 1-888-355-2700.
