A Kamloops rapper is heading in the right direction as his music video just topped 100,000 views on Youtube.
Joey Hyde's "Vera Wang," which features regional artists like Leno TK, Lil Windex, and was produced by KJ of Beatrunnas, topped the milestone this week. Hyde explained there is no better feeling than having others appreciate your work.
"It feels really good, honestly it feels like all the work that we put in is starting to pay off," said Hyde. We made all the right connections, we got a good feature on the song, our videographer was great, 4K Carlos, shout out, and yeah it feels really good."
"I'm hoping it's the first of many, I'm hoping to use that as a benchmark for my future videos."
Hyde adds that his song is all about getting the right outfit, style, and attitude, noting that it was made easy working with such talented artists.
"It's pretty cool having that depths of talent, being able to reach in, do something, and work with people who I honestly never thought I'd have the opportunity to work with. It's crazy, I wake up some days and I get emails from people that I've been listening to for years and I've been talking to people I consider my idols, trying to plan my next moves with them, and it's super cool having that pool of talent right at my fingertips to access whenever."
Hyde went on to say new music is coming and he couldn't thank his fans enough for the support they've given him.
"Well, the team has been super busy lately. We just put in a brand new studio in Kamloops and we've been working non-stop for the past few months. We're there for 12-hours to 15-hours a day sleeping in the studio. We've made a couple of music videos down in Vancouver, the team has a massive feature coming up actually, the other guy on the song, Leno TK is doing a feature with NLE Choppa and he's a viral sensation right now, millions of views and followers and we're continuing to push forward from there."
"It's been incredible honestly, it's been a hell of a ride, I was lucky from the start to have a bunch of people behind supporting me. It really helped everything get pushed out there and I'm just glad to have everybody's support. I've heard nothing but good things, and everything that I have heard, that I could use I've learned from it, I've listened to and having the people's support is awesome."
