A Kamloops woman has charitable intentions after winning a hefty prize from the BC/49 draw all the way back in March.
Susan Steenson decided to buy a ticket for the draw while grabbing her groceries at the Save-On-Foods on Summit Drive.
She ended up checking it while on another grocery trip at Real Canadian Superstore and learned it matched five of six-plus numbers to win $75,000.
“I thought, ‘This isn’t real!’ I thought it was just an ad on the screen,” Steenson recalled of her winning moment.
Steenson doesn’t have any immediate plans for her prize and has decided to “put it aside for now for something practical or fun.”
However, she mentioned that she would also like to donate a portion of her windfall as well.
As for how it feels to win such a significant lottery prize, she described it as “exciting and surreal!”
