Anyone who uses Highway 5 to commute is being advised of planned maintenance work happening on Wednesday.
The Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure says crews will be working on the New East Bridge (or Yellowhead Bridge) between Shuswap Road and the interchange of Hwy 1 and Hwy 5.
The work will begin at 9 am until 3:30 pm as crews conduct electrical maintenance.
This will result in southbound traffic being reduced to one lane.
Drivers should prepare for delays during the lane closure and give themselves extra travel time in the morning and the afternoon.
Commuters are asked to use caution, keep an eye out for signage and traffic control personnel and roadside workers.
