The BC RCMP’s Major Crime Unit is investigating after human remains were discovered west of Kamloops earlier this month.
On April 11, the Tk’emlups RCMP were made aware of the discovery of human remains in the Pendelton Creek area.
Major Crime investigators, with help from Forensic Identification Services, were called in to process the scene and found partial human remains scattered across an area of the rural property, a news release said.
Police are unsure of the point of origin of the scattered remains.
The Major Crime Unit is treating the death as suspicious.
“The investigation is in its infancy and police are looking for anyone who might have information about how this person died or how they came to be there,” said Staff Sergeant Jason Smart, NCO i/c of the Southeast District Major Crime Unit.
“Work continues in an effort to determine the identity of the deceased, as well as the circumstances of their death.”
Anyone with any information is asked to contact the BC RCMP Southeast District Major Crime Unit Tip Line at 1-877-987-8477.
