The City of Kamloops is advising residents of road upgrade work happening on Campbell Creek Road and Barnhartvale Road this week.
Starting on Monday, crews will be doing drainage improvements, including the installation of a new culvert and manholes to assist with flood mitigation, in the area and the work is expected to last until mid-May.
This work will result in a three-work closure of a portion of Barnhartvale Road between Campbell Creek Road and Shumway Road.
Work will be happening from 7 am to 5 pm, Monday to Thursday.
Outside of work hours, including Fridays and weekends, the road will reopen to traffic.
“At some points during construction, there will be a large trench in the middle of the road and vehicle traffic may not be able to pass,” the city says in a news release.
“Traffic will be detoured along Blackwell Road. Please obey all traffic control personnel and equipment when driving in the vicinity of the construction.”
The city says residents will still be able to access their properties but the use of a detour may be required, depending on which side of the work zone the property is located on.
