Police are probing the circumstances surrounding the tragic death of a Kamloops man and his dog over the weekend.
Officers were called to the Inks Lake Road turnoff near the Chuwels Inks Trail, south of Kamloops, for a report of a sudden death at 2:40 pm Saturday.
When they arrived, they found a man in his 50s and his large dog both dead, with the green Ford Explorer the man was driving just a short distance away.
Staff Sgt. Sascha Fesenko says the circumstances of their death remain under investigation.
“The area the deceased was located in is known for recreational activities, such as hiking and dirt biking,” Fesenko explained. “We’re hopeful someone saw the man or his truck and will contact police with any information that may be related.”
According to police, the man was last seen leaving his residence in Kamloops in the Ford Explorer, with his dog, around 2 pm Friday.
Anyone who may have seen the vehicle on Friday or Saturday, or any associated activity that may be related to this fatal incident, is urged to call police.
