Man arrested after pushing a Kamloops RCMP officer

A man was arrested Saturday afternoon after allegedly pushing an RCMP officer responding to an investigation.

Police officers were responding to the 300-block of Victoria Street around 2 pm for a report of a fight.

A news release said the man was reportedly interfering with the response.

Some minor injuries were reported as a result of the alleged shove.

The man was arrested.

“Due to the proactive patrols associated with the operational plan to respond to Rib Fest issues, police were able to respond quickly and maintain public safety,” said Superintendent Pelley.

The investigation is ongoing and witnesses are asked to call the detachment at (250) 828-3000.
