A 37-year-old Kamloops man is facing seven charges in relation to a firearms incident from earlier this month.
The Kamloops RCMP say Carson Anthony Mitchel appeared in court on June 16.
He is facing charges related to uttering threats, assault with a weapon, careless use of a firearm, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, carrying a concealed weapon without authorization, possession of a firearm without a licence, occupying a vehicle knowing a firearm was present.
The charges stem from an incident that happened at a local motel on June 15.
The RCMP say they cannot speak further on the matter because it is now going through the court process.
However, they confirm the incident was targeted and isolated.
Mitchel is due back in court in mid-July.
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call the detachment at (250) 828-3000 and refer to file 2025-18753.
