A man wanted in connection to a robbery was arrested after being found unresponsive in a vehicle in the downtown area.
RCMP officers were called to a parking lot on the 400-block of 10th Avenue on Monday around 3:30 pm.
When they arrived on the scene, they found the man in a Honda Pilot, which was later reported as stolen.
Cpl. Crystal Evelyn, a spokesperson for the detachment, says the officers were able to turn off the vehicle and recognized the man as being wanted on a warrant related to a robbery in August.
“He was held in custody for a bail hearing, during which he was released with a next court appearance date for Feb. 22, 2024,” Cpl. Evelyn said.
During a search of the vehicle, two long guns were found and seized.
An investigation into prohibited driving, unauthorized possession of a firearm, and breach of release order is ongoing, as well as a separate one into the theft of motor vehicle report.
The vehicle was impounded for seven days and the suspect received a 24-hour driving prohibition related to drug impairment under the Motor Vehicle Act.
