The lengthy search for a missing man in British Columbia has come to a tragic end.
Police have confirmed that remains found in the Pendleton Creek area of rural Kamloops two months ago belong to Jordan Nande.
“It is believed that foul play led to his death,” said a release from the RCMP’s Southeast District Major Crime Unit (SED MCU)
Nande was 27 years old when reported missing by his family to the Kamloops RCMP on April 1, 2023.
They told police that Nande was travelling to Kamloops from where he lived in Fort St. John, but he had not contacted them upon arrival.
On July 20, the RCMP provided an update to confirm that his last-known location was Kamloops, noting that he was wanted on an arrest warrant and may be avoiding contact with police.
In the release issued today, the SED MCU clarified that Nande left Fort Nelson with “local associates” in February 2023 and they traveled to Kamloops together.
Staff Sgt. Jason Smart said the unit continues to investigate his death and “is requesting anyone with information about his disappearance and suspected homicide” to contact police.
