(UPDATE: Feb. 10 @ 8:50 am) - Tk’emlúps Rural RCMP are thanking the public after 62-year-old Brett Drake was located and is safe.
(Original story: Feb. 8 @ 10:50 am) -Police are hoping the public can help track down a missing Kamloops man.
According to the Tk’emlúps Rural RCMP, 62-year-old Brett Drake left his Kamloops residence around 8 pm on Tuesday and has not been seen since.
Around 7:30 am on Wednesday, his vehicle was found abandoned in a pullout off Hwy 1 East near Savona.
“Brett’s truck was found by CP Police yesterday morning and appeared to be stuck at the edge of a steep embankment,” said Cpl. Crystal Evelyn.
“Kamloops Search and Rescue was deployed to the area, along with the Police Dog Service Unit and the Forensic Identification Unit’s drone, but he was not located.”
Evelyn says the search is ongoing and will continue today, but urged anyone who has relevant information to come forward and aid the investigation.
Police are specifically hoping to learn of any sightings of Drake or his truck between the time he left home and when his vehicle was discovered around 12 hours later.
Drake is described as a 5’10”, 160 lbs Caucasian man with grey hair and blue eyes.
His truck is a blue 2022 Chevy Silverado full-size pickup with a pair of snowmobiles on the back.
