(UPDATE: Aug. 25 at 2:20 pm) - The woman reported missing this morning by the Kamloops RCMP has been located.

No other details were shared in the short update from the police.

(Original story: Aug. 25 at 7 am) - Mounties in Kamloops have asked for the public’s help in their search for a missing senior.

The 79-year-old was last seen driving a grey 2018 Toyota RAV4 SUV.

Police said it’s “out of character” for her to be out of touch with her family.

They said she is believed to have been headed toward Lac Le Jeune to find a camping spot.

“Given (her) age and the circumstances, we are asking anyone who may have seen her or her vehicle to please contact us right away,” said S/Sgt Andy Lot.

“Even a small detail could help us bring June home safely.”

Police said anyone with information should call 250-828-3000.
