(UPDATE: Nov. 29 @ 4:30 pm) – Emergency responders remain on the scene of a multi-vehicle collision near Thompson Rivers University.
Police officers were called to the intersection of McGill Road and University Drive around 3 pm.
Serious injuries were reported as a result of the accident, however, the extent of the injuries or how many people were hurt is not known at this time.
“The public is asked to please plan a detour around the area while police presence remains. The Kamloops RCMP Municipal Traffic Unit has conduct of the investigation,” says a release from the detachment.

(Original story: Nov. 29 @ 3:34 pm) – A vehicle collision has forced the closure of McGill Road and University Drive Wednesday afternoon.
The Kamloops RCMP have not provided much detail but are asking drivers to avoid the area to allow emergency crews to work safely.
A release from the RCMP says injuries have been reported but the extent has not been made public at this time.
Police are likely to provide information on when the road reopens and this story will be updated accordingly.
