People living in and around Kamloops now have access to improved X-ray and bone density testing at a North Shore clinic.
On Tuesday, Interior Health announced that the new Northills Centre Medical Imaging clinic was now open at 42-700 Tranquille Road.
According to a release, the Royal Inland Hospital Foundation funded over $98,000 for the new bone density unit and BC’s Ministry of Health and the Thomson Regional Hospital District funded $917,000 for the new x-ray machine and renovations of the former North Shore Radiology Clinic.
BC Minister of Health, Adrian Dix, says the upgrades are expected to add capacity for over 8,000 x-rays and 3,000 bone density exams per year.
"In addition to expanding access to X-ray tests, this clinic stands as the sole bone density clinic in the Thompson-Cariboo region,” stated Susan Brown, Interior Health president and CEO.
“With clinic upgrades and new technology, we are excited to enhance medical imaging experiences for people in Kamloops and surrounding areas.”
The Northills Centre Medical Imaging shares a building with the North Shore Primary Care Centre and Northills Centre Laboratory, offering patients access to multiple health-care services seamlessly.
The clinic is open from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm, Monday to Friday. Appointment booking will be available at (250) 314-2420.
