Although her bank account has grown, not a lot has changed for Alison Trulsen.
The Kamloops resident recently won $500,000 in the June 18 Lotto Max draw, splitting a Maxmillions prize with someone from Quebec.
One the night she found out she won, Trulsen and her husband only had one idea in mind to celebrate and that was a pizza dinner for two.
“I don’t have any big plans to celebrate,” she told the BCLC that day. “However, my husband and I plan on having pizza… it’s nice not having to cook!”
“For this ticket, I didn’t check the Maxmillions so I didn’t even know I had won… when I went to Petro-Canada and saw that it was a winner I was so surprised!”
When she found out the news, she told her husband right away.
“I still couldn’t believe it and had to share the news with him,” Trulsen said. “He was pretty happy.”
Trulsen, who said the winning feeling is “indescribable” and “surprising,” has no immediate plans for the prize money and will put it away for a rainy day or invest it.
The winning ticket was purchased at Aberdeen Hills Petro-Canada in Kamloops.
