Person dies after being struck by train in Kamloops

A person is dead following a collision involving a pedestrian and a train in Kamloops Tuesday night.

According to police, the incident occurred near the Overlanders Bridge on Victoria Street West sometime before midnight.

The Coroners Service was called to the location and is currently investigating all factors into what caused the death.

Both RCMP and the BC Ambulance Service responded to the initial incident. The trains were back up and moving around 2 am.
