A half dozen vehicles believed to be stolen from other cities were recovered from a rural Kamloops property, say the RCMP.
A news release says the vehicles were recovered on April 2 after the Kamloops RCMP received a report of a stolen Volvo sedan around 8:20 am from a house on Clarke Street.
Officers with the Tk’emlúps RCMP located the vehicle abandoned as an address on the 600-block of Shuswap Road.
According to the release, the Kamloops Crime Reduction unit was called in for back up, which led to the discovery of several other stolen vehicles, including a travel trailer, and a loaded handgun.
Cpl. Crystal Evelyn, Kamloops RCMP spokesperson, says four people who are reportedly known to police were located in the allegedly stolen travel trailer.
They were arrested and later released pending further investigation.
“Thanks to the quick actions of the Tk’emlúps police officers and city detachment support units, vehicles that had been stolen out of Oliver, Vernon, and Kamloops were recovered,” Evelyn says.
Anyone with information or video that may be related to this investigation, including from the area where the Volvo was stolen, is asked to call the Kamloops RCMP Detachment at (250) 828-3000 and refer to file 2024-9491.
