RCMP seek alleged theft who took skis from a Sun Peaks hotel

The Kamloops RCMP are asking for the community’s help tracking down an alleged ski theft.

On Thursday, around 5 pm, the Tk’emlúps Rural RCMP received a report that black and fluorescent yellow Rossignal brand skis had been allegedly stolen from a hotel on Alpine Road in Sun Peaks.

Cpl. Crystal Evelyn, spokesperson for the RCMP, said the police were able to obtain surveillance images of the suspect and are releasing them to further the investigation.

Anyone with information about the alleged theft or who can identify the suspect is asked to call the Tk’emlúps Rural RCMP at (250) 314-1800 and refer to file 2025-823.

According to the news release, the Tk’emlúps RCMP have received a few reports involving stolen winter sports and are reminding people to take extra precaution with their equipment.

Mounties are encouraging people to ensure their gear is secured and to record serial numbers or add an engraving or other visible marking to make it easier to identify the equipment if it were ever stolen.
